When it comes to powering digital cameras, Energizer’s Ultimate Lithium batteries are streets ahead of their competitors. With a range of batteries for cameras and camera flash units, ranging from the very small batteries to specialist camera batteries, it’s not surprising that Energizer wanted to become active in promoting their product in the photography vertical.
How we did it
Banner ads, print campaigns and other traditional forms of messaging are all very well, but lack real engagement. We decided to run a photography contest. However, this was not just any photography contest; rather we created Malaysia’s first (and we believe only) NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY contest. Naturally, photographers were tacitly encouraged to power their flashguns and other photography equipment with Energizer batteries. The Contest was open to anyone with a camera – the only stipulation being that the entries must have been shot at night between 16 April and 15 June 2011. 7 of Malaysia’s foremost photographers judged the entries.
