We worked with Clipsal / Schneider to create a new product, which would later become their Smart Home offering. In its early phase it was names Premise Gateway. Our team worked with the Clipsal / Schneider engineers at the R&D center in Malaysia to create much of the actual code that went into the final products.
To market the products we wanted to do something a little different and ambitious – Create an interactive sales video featuring live action, CGI environments and flash, with a complex level of AI (artificial intelligence) in the backend in order to allow users to interact freely with the environments instead of following a pre-defined path.
The purpose of the project, for Hong Kong-based Schneider Electric, was to demonstrate Schneider Electric’s home automation product named Wiser Home Control to prospective end users and property developers.
The challenge was to emulate the product’s real-world functionality. it essentially does everything from switching on the lights and air-conditioning, to cuing up the DVD and streaming Internet Radio in the context of an interactive CD. In order to achieve this, we worked with Singapore based Intense-Animation to create a series of CGI rendered house and apartment interiors, complete with a matrix of functional home devices, such as projector screens, blinds, air-con units, TV screens, sound systems, water features, and even an outdoor spa pool.
The result is a combination of live action, CGI and Flash, all working seamlessly. This piece has been seen in Australia, Hong Kong, the Middle east and China.
